Day 3 – Maesai & The Golden Triangle

On the third day of our holiday it started to rain – not a great day for photos. We had booked a tour to Mae Sai and The Golden Triangle. There’s not much to say about this day except for a few interesting bits and pieces: a visit to the beautiful White Temple with its own runway through “hell”, a trip to Laos where a taste of cobra whiskey was offered for free, some interesting souvenirs in Vietnam – beautifully carved masks, opium pipes and bone figurines, and a disappointing viewing of a “hill tribe village” that was about as real as a staged play. But the next day, everything got better. Much better.

Wow … the White Temple is stunning!

Beautiful pictures, Delia! I agree with Jenners – the white temple is very beautiful and stunning! I also loved the pictures of the chessboard and the rickshaw. It was nice to know that rickshaws are still there in Thailand. Can’t wait to read about Day 4!

I forgot to mention one more thing. For some reason I looked at your header image more closely today. Then I looked at the red characters more closely and the secret of the picture revealed itself. I must be the last person to figure it out, but I felt nice doing that 🙂 Your header image is wonderful 🙂

A rickshaw! I always forget what that “bicycle” is called. Thanks for reminding me. Day 4 coming soon. I still have to sort through the photos.

Better late than never, Vishy. 🙂 I’m glad you like it.
